A video has left fans raging online, with some slamming Blue Ivy’s family for being ‘out of touch’
A video of Beyoncé and JAY-Z’s oldest daughter has gone viral after she was seen bidding $A126,000 for a pair of diamond earrings at a charity auction.
Blue Ivy Carter – who is just 10 years old – was seen placing the eye-watering bid for the Lorraine Schwartz earrings at the 2022 Wearable Art Gala in Los Angeles.

The video has left some raging online, slamming the family for being “out of touch” while others defended the bid, noting that it was for charity.
In a video captured by actress Quinta Brunson, Beyoncé’s 10-year-old daughter, seated with her famous parents, is seen waving a paddle as she placed her bid of $US80,000.
The earrings were worn by Carter’s grandmother, Tina Knowles, prior to the bidding and they previously belonged to Beyoncé.

The child was outbid by Monique Rodriguez, the founder of Mielle Organics, who offered $A165,000.
It’s not the first time the young Carter has bid at the Wearable Art Gala.
When she was just six, she bid on a Sidney Poitier painting for $A26,000 before dad JAY-Z tried the snatch the paddle from her grip.
She placed another offer at $A30,000 but was outbid by someone else.
Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, shared the video on Instagram at the time with the caption: “Thanks to Mr. Tyler Perry and Blue Ivy soo generous!!”

Social media has been abuzz with discussion about the appropriateness of Carter’s bidding, considering her young age.
“This is beyond ridiculous, these kids are out of control. This (one), in particular, doesn’t know the value of money. Spoiled, spoiled kid,” one tweet said.
“Sorry but they aren’t doing her any favours,” said another.
One comment described it as “Really sad. What are these people exposing their kids to?”

“This makes me sick to my stomach. A lot of people are struggling to pay bills, buy groceries, etc. and she has 80K to spend like it’s nothing. So disrespectful and sickening,” said another.
Others defended the decision, considering the money was for charity.
“Regardless of what it is, it’s going to a great cause. I highly doubt the scatters let their children spend frivolously without educating them on finances,” one said.
“So what (do) you want her to do with all that money? Sleep on it? They got enough to last generations and she’s spending it on art. She can do as she pleases,” a second added.
Another defended Carter by insisting she had made the money herself.
“Everyone thinking Beyoncé and Jay gave her money. She’s on several tracks, several videos, she has a Grammy… you guys act like she doesn’t make her own money…”
