Kourtney Kardashian Supports Husband Travis Barker at ‘Run Travis Run’ Fitness Event in L.A.

The event was hosted at the Kia Forum ahead of a Blink-182 show, where Kourtney Kardashian showed her support for her husband, Travis Barker.

The Lemme founder, 45, was by her husband’s side on Saturday, July 6, as the rocker followed through on his goal to “get people outside” by hosting the inaugural “Run Travis Run” wellness event in Los Angeles.

Kardashian and Barker, 48, were photographed embracing at the event. Kardashian wore a long-sleeve shirt with black leggings, while Barker donned a graphic T-shirt and shorts. The Blink-182 drummer, scheduled to perform with his band at the Kia Forum after the event, was also captured running alongside other participants.

Before the event, Barker told PEOPLE, “I don’t want it to be discouraging. It should just be fun. I feel like everyone can get out and do 5Ks. Even if they see this, and they don’t run it, maybe it motivates them to get outside.”

Barker previously shared with PEOPLE that he starts every day “by walking 30 minutes while I consume some sort of audiobook or podcast. And I do the same thing at night because I’ve always struggled with sleeping, especially after shows when I’m wound up and hyper. I’ve just found wellness and working out is so critical for everything that I do.”

Kardashian also mentioned to PEOPLE that she and Barker bonded through exercising together before their romance began. “We would always work out together and run together or do stuff like that together before we were ever in a relationship — we were workout buddies forever,” she explained.

Barker once shared on Instagram that his interest in health and wellness began after the 2008 plane crash that killed four people and left him and DJ AM (Adam Michael Goldstein) in critical condition. Goldstein died a year later from a prescription drug overdose.

“After my accident in 2008, more than 70% of my body was burnt, and I was told by doctors that I may never be able to walk or play drums the same again. I was never athletic and I never played sports, but I immediately had this urge to prove everyone wrong, including myself,” Barker wrote. “It started off with short walks, and then that turned into short runs every day. I felt this sense of calmness and a rush of dopamine every time I ran. I’ve kept this up for years now, and I always start my day with it. I even run 3 miles every day before my shows when I’m on tour.”

“This past year, I ran my first half marathon and participated in a few 5Ks. I loved how everyone from all walks of life ran together and supported one another,” Barker added. “The running community is massive, and it really inspired me to create Run Travis Run as a way to bring like-minded people together. I wanna motivate people to get outside and walk or run for a few hours, as well as make healthy decisions and create healthy habits.”
