Celine Dion Delays Courage World Tour Due to Rare Neurological Condition

Opening Up About Health Struggles

Celine Dion has announced further delays and cancellations for her Courage World Tour. The delays come as she faces a rare neurological disorder called Stiff-Person Syndrome.

In a recent heartfelt message on social media, Dion shared her health struggles. She explained how this condition has impacted her ability to continue touring. “I’ve always been open with my fans, and although I wasn’t ready to share this before, I feel it’s time now,” she said.

A Rare Diagnosis

Dion revealed that she was diagnosed with Stiff-Person Syndrome, a rare condition that affects only a small number of people. “We still have much to learn about this disorder,” she explained. “But we now understand that it’s the cause of the spasms I’ve been experiencing.”

The Impact on Daily Life

The singer admitted that these health issues have been challenging. “These spasms impact every part of my daily life,” Dion shared. “They make it difficult to walk and prevent me from singing the way I’m used to.” Because of this, she has decided to postpone her European tour dates.

Focus on Recovery

Despite the setbacks, Dion is dedicated to her recovery. She is working closely with medical professionals and a therapist to regain her strength. “I’m fortunate to have a great team of doctors and the support of my beloved children,” she added. “Singing is my life’s passion, and it’s what I love doing most.”

Dion’s Courage World Tour, initially announced in 2019, has faced numerous delays. After completing the first leg of the tour, further dates were postponed due to health challenges and global events. Recently, she has had to delay European and U.K. tour dates to 2024, while also canceling several summer performances.
