Sam Smith Shines at Royal Albert Hall with an Unforgettable Performance
Sam Smith took the stage at the Royal Albert Hall on July 2nd for a much-anticipated BBC Proms show. While the audience expected a spectacular performance with support from the BBC Concert Orchestra, something unexpected stole the spotlight.
The British star dazzled in a Topaz ‘Heart of the Ocean’ necklace. This breathtaking piece features a 40-carat heart-shaped blue topaz pendant. It’s surrounded by 23 carats of round brilliant diamonds, all set on an 18-carat white gold chain.
The necklace pays tribute to an iconic design seen in a famous 1997 movie. The original version was crafted with gold and colored glass. However, after the film’s success, it was recreated with a 171-carat blue sapphire pendant and over 100 carats of diamonds.
Sam’s appearance sparked some buzz due to their bold fashion choices and unique performances. However, the 32-year-old artist addressed any concerns by wearing a custom-made gown that was both stylish and fitting for the event. The striking red dress featured an asymmetric neckline, a flowing skirt, and matching gloves. With a touch of humor, Sam assured the audience, “Don’t worry, the clothes are staying on. This is an appropriate show. Even I know there’s a time and a place.”
Meanwhile, Sam thrilled the crowd with a setlist of their biggest hits. These included “Unholy,” “Lay Me Down,” “Latch,” and “Writing’s On The Wall.” The audience was left in awe.
